Watchtower's Billion Dollars of Property Cannot Be Sold until Outcome of Conti Appeal
by Dogpatch in30 minutes ago i just got off the phone with some important players in this case, and some things were relayed to me concerning a lot of details of the outcome of the last two days of court.
i am passing this on.
cynthia hampton, one of the main players in the candace conti case (and a close friend of 28 years), just informed me of a further, far more powerful move by the state of california against the watch tower bible and tract society of new york, inc.. by order of the superior court of the state of california - county of alameda (see documents below), until the watch tower's appeal, which won't begin until august 13th and will take up to two years to settle due to due process of law, has forbidden the watch tower to sell any more of its $1 billion in assets in the borough of brooklyn until the appeals case is finished, to assure they won't shelter their monies in the light of this most huge and devastating sexual abuse scandal ever to hit the watch tower society, and perhaps any other single-victim lawsuit.

I'm sure the WATCHTOWER is not happy about this turn of events - after all, Armageddon could be here in two years! (yuk yuk yuk)
But the Brooklyn properties are not the WT&TS' only assets. I'm sure they have vaults full of very liquid cash, stocks and bonds, none of which are covered by the California order, AND the WTB&TS still has its biggest ASSet: the mindless rank and file who will donate all they have for the sake of "the worldwide work."

I posit that Anthony Morris III hopes to become the Watchtower's own Walt Disney:

Interestingly enough, the Internet Movie DataBase (IMDb) has a listing for an Anthony Morris III:

Is this "our" Tony? I don't know, there isn't enough information.

History of Disfellowshipping
by daringhart13 ini'm looking to compile a real history of how this heinous practice came into existance.. i've read the 1947 article condemning it and i believe knorr instituted it in 1952 when frustrated with a wife swapping ordeal at columbia heights.. can someone confirm?
post information?
the more the better.......thanks!.

I would suggest that Knorr was inspired in this policy by his mentor, Rutherford, who enjoyed dismissing Bethelites who offended him with short or no notice. The Moyle case springs to mind immediately, and there have been others I've long wondered about (Fogh).

Aortic Stenosis
by Mall Cop ineight years ago before simon changed over to this site, i was known as blueblades.
i mentioned back then 7/21/03 that i was diagnosed as having a narrow aortic valve.
well, the time has come to update all my friends back then and now.

Best wishes, 'Blades.
I had mitral valve prolapse repair a few years ago, and I'm still here. I'm confident you will come through this OK. In my case, my original equipment just needed a supporting nylon ring installed, but the heart had to come out o' me chest and be cut open to allow the ring to be installed. Recovery isn't that bad, as long as you avoid coughing and sneezing - they hurt like hell. When they stop hurting you know your ribcage is once again intact.
Begin walking again as SOON AS YOU CAN.

NOTA BENE: The term (sic) is used after a word or phrase to indicate that it is shown exactly as originally printed. In the above case, WE know the proper spelling would be "Jehovah's" but the writer didn't know that.

Jehovah Witness who refused transfusion allowed to die in UK
Two cases involving Jehovah Witnesses who refused blood transfusions are in the news: a 22-year-old with sickle cell anaemiawho died in the UK and a 4-year-old girl in Australia who lived after a court-ordered transfusion.
In Britain, a 22-year-old man refused a blood transfusion. After consulting lawyers, his doctors decided to respect his decision and he passed away after about three weeks in hospital. There were concerns that the man's mother, who was with him when he died, and an elder from his church were exerting an undue influence. However, a doctor assessed him and declared that he was fully aware of what he was doing.
At the moment there are no substitutes for blood transfusions that can be offered to Jehovah’s Witnesses although researchers predict that a product will be available in 5 to 10 years.
In Adelaide, the parents of a four-year-old with leukaemia refused to allow her to have the blood transfusion she needed. Her father told the media: "We adhere to strict Bible principles and one of those is to abstain from blood. We want the best possible treatment for (her) and the hospital are doing a great job. The only thing we don't consent to is the issue of blood."
The South Australian Supreme Court ordered the hospital to give her a transfusion, which had a 90% chance of saving her life. "I'm satisfied that there are no alternatives to the provision of a blood transfusion. I'm satisfied that it's in (the girl's) best interest to received the blood transfusion despite her parents' objections," said Justice Richard White.
